What is Tally Prime?
Tally Prime is business management software from Tally Solutions for accounting, inventory, GST, banking, payroll and reporting. It is widely used by small and medium businesses and accountants in India and other markets.

What is the latest version of Tally Prime?
The latest release is Tally Prime 7.1, released on 20 May 2026. It added ready-made invoice print templates, IMS improvements, auto-wrap text, ICICI connected payments and new e-TDS/e-TCS return forms.
Is Tally Prime free?
You can install Tally Prime free and use it in Educational mode to learn, which limits voucher dates to the 1st, 2nd and 31st of a month. For business use you need a licence: Silver (single user) or Gold (multi-user on a LAN).
How much does Tally Prime cost?
Published Indian prices in 2026 are about ₹22,500 for Silver and ₹67,500 for Gold, plus 18% GST, with the first year of Tally Software Services included. Rental plans are also available. Always confirm the current price with Tally or a partner.
Does Tally Prime run on Mac?
Tally Prime is a Windows application (Windows 7 or later, 64-bit). Mac users usually run it through Windows virtualisation or a hosted remote-access setup.
